To Love Jason Thorn
Reviews

4.50 ⭐ no skips, a quick read! i’ll prolly re-read this soon because i can’t get over jasonolive’s dynamics! (domestic!jasonolive gimme more)

it was a bit underwhelming. but i still enjoyed reading this one

This is one book I’ve been wanting to read since I got back into reading several years ago. I have finally read it and really enjoyed it. The premise of the book is really fun and I enjoyed how it all played out. I did like how the third act break up wasn’t drawn out and was able to tie back to the beginning of the book. I did like the main side characters especially Lucy and what she added to the story. I’m excited for her book to say the less. The only negative would be that the writing of some of the scenes felt a bit cheesy as I was reading.

😁- live footage of me reading the book

Liked it a lot but liked the second one better (I excidentaly read the second book before this one)

oh my gosh i’m in love. this was so cute ugh. i’m literally gonna be alone for the rest of my life. also, i NEED the physical copy of this book

Of course, I decided to end the year with a cute romance. Cute and veryyyy steamy. Jason Thorn knows his way around the bedroom or any other room, I'll tell you that. The plot was cute but the development was meh. The struggle felt lazy and it happened very clumsily at a point in the story where it didn't make any sense. I'm giving this 3 stars because the romance and the smut was ON POINT.

Cute book, Jason was not the asshole you want him to be
I really liked it!

best spice i have read in a long time. and truly lovely romance story!

This review is just going to focus on one scene in the book - could be slightly spoilery. Also, sexual assault trigger warning. . . . . . . . . . . This book had such promise, but oof. I could not overlook that scene where Olive is drunk and basically forces Jason's hands inside her. Like, the dude actually said, "Please stop, Olive.". I get that obviously he wanted to and was probably saying stop because he knew it was wrong since she was drunk out of her mind and she eventually stops, but still.. this is not ok?? AND THEN, to top it off, the scene ends with him deciding he'll give her an orgasm so that maybe she will go to sleep. Sure, she asked for it, but again.. she. is. drunk. Also not ok?? I don't know. Maybe I am overreacting, but this whole scene made me feel so icky and I'm kinda surprised more reviews didn't talk about this. I realize that we know Olive had already expressed her desire to have sex Jason by this point and maybe I would have felt different if they had already slept together, but this was their first sexual experience with each other. Like, how are you going to do this when she isn't going to remeber? (and, in fact, actually doesn't remember). I don't think I've ever given a 1 star review, but this is gonna be a no for me. Such a shame cause the rest was pretty cute, but I cannot in good conscience give a higher rating after that scene. Especially as someone with my own experiences with something like that. Big pile of yikes.

i loved this book, it was a cute romance and a little bit of spicy, wich btw, i love it! however for me the finals chapters were a bit boring and rushed!

3.75 stars Enter Olive, living my dream life as a best-selling author of a romance novel that she based off on her childhood crush (but she still loves him to this day), Jason Thorn. Jason, who is a celebrity with a bad reputation in the industry gets the opportunity to star in the film adaptation of guess who's book? Yup, you guessed it, Olive. When I first read the synopsis for this book, the idea of this storyline intrigued me. I thought it would be a unique plot. Reading this book was such a joy! But after letting the book sink in for a day or two, I came to the conclusion that the plot wasn't as deep as I thought. The more I studied the book, I realized the plot felt a bit... shallow. BUT this is a good thing if you're a reader who is in the mood for something quick to get through. I swear on it, THIS is the book that will get you out of a slump. The writing style is easy to digest, the plot isn't complicated, and you have many lovable characters. Speaking of lovable characters, let's talk about my favorite character - Lucy. My goodness, she is everything. As I was buddy reading this with Bray (@braysbooks on IG), we both came to the conclusion that she was one of the best characters we ever met. She's bold, wants what's best for Olive, supports Olive, just as much as Olive wants her best friend to be happy. When I found out Lucy was the female MC in To Hate Adam Connor (the second book in this duet), I squealed in delight. I am absolutely ready to read her love story. Now, as for our main focus (sorry, got a little carried away with loving Lucy haha), Olive and Jason. From the start, I knew Jason had a special spot for Olive, despite how much younger she was by him. When Jason came back into her life, Olive was so jumpy about it and Jason came on strong. I just loved his charms and how he wasn't afraid to go after her. Though Olive was taken aback by who was the leading role in her movie, her feelings came rushing back and the absolute tension between these two! There's this one scene where Olive goes to Jason's house for the first time and it had me SCREAMING. The intimate moments they shared -- especially during their fake marriage was everything to me. I adore the cheesiness of their relationship and loved the HEA. Nothing can beat that adorable epilogue. Go pick this up and fall in love with this book!

well it was fine

75% of the time i felt secondhand embarrassment from things olive said and did. she and jason were cute at times but i didn’t really buy into their love, especially on jason’s side

To Love Jason Thorn is a cliché but beautifully written story in the dual POV of Olive and her love interest Jason. The book started off when Olive was still a child and had a huge crush on her brothers best friend. It was insanely clingy to read in young Olives POV but after the first few chapters the book really kicks off and draws readers in. If your on the fence about reading this book, know that it is super cliché but only in the best way possible.

little one (derogatory) !!!!!!!!!!!

“I kept my promise to you. I told you that I would never forget you Olive Thorn, and it looks like my heart never did, sweetheart. My world is a less scary place with you in it, baby. I will kiss you a thousand times every day if that’s what it takes to keep you in love with me for the rest of our days.” Miss Ella Maise did it again!! She became one of my fave authors just with Marriage For One and loved this one with everything I have too! Jason and Olive stole my heart since the first sentence and Im obsessed with them!! If you haven't read this tbh I don't know what you're waiting for!!!! “You stole my little heart with just one dimple, you sneaky little thief. I never managed to fall out of love with you after that. I don’t think I know how to.”

dnf

Jason thorn is one of my many dream boys. Seriously. I was up to the first few chapters and had already fallen in love with him. This is just another reason why l standards are getting higher and higher. This book had multiple tropes. Brothers best friend, marriage of convenience. Ella Maise did an amazing job with this book as well as her others. But this one is my personal favourite and it’s ranking top 5 of my favs. Definitely read this book!!!!

DAMNN ITTT!!!, Definitely one of the best reads of 2021. Loved it.

“My world is a less scary place with you in it, baby. I will kiss you a thousand times every day if that’s what it takes to keep you in love with me for the rest of our days.” “Surprisingly, you’ve been the best kind of heartache, Jason Thorn.” MY GOD WHAT A BOOK. IT BAD BROTHERS BEST FRIEND, PROTECTIVE BROTHER, ONE BED TROPE AND FAKE MARRIAGE TROPE ??? what more could a girl ask for? i loved this book so much i cannot describe how much happiness their relationship and the whole plot brought me. ((i promise the graphic designed cover of this book is so cute and if you are deterred by the man on the cover, i understand completely but please look past it))

SO SO SO CUTE
Highlights

This book is for everyone who once loved a boy and felt those butterflies overwhelm them in the best possible way.
And, well, if the boy didn’t love you back, shame on him! What a jerk.

It was becoming impossible to not notice every little thing about her.
Jason about Olive.

She gave my hand a tug, but I didn’t see why I should have to let it go so I held on.
Jason about holding Olive’s hand

Fuck, but I couldn’t stop glancing at her.
Jason about Olive.

“It is a little weird though, isn’t it?” “Weird? I don’t know, probably. You were never an ordinary girl, though.”
Jason discussing with Olive how they bumped into each other again.

“Olive, you are beautiful,” he said after we took in each other in the thick silence.
Jason seeing Olive again.

“Look at you,” he laughed, triggering a smile on my face. “I can’t believe it, Olive. Fuck, look at you,” he repeated again.
Jason first seeing Olive again.

"My world is a less scary place with you in it, baby. I will kiss you a thousand times every day if that's what it takes to keep you in love with me for the rest of our days."

"By groping your breasts?" Jason growled. He looked down at me with his flushed face and I frowned at him.
Yesss Jason! That’s your girl. Take charge.

I really love dedications like this

"Were you always this stubborn when you were little?" I asked, starting to get a little annoyed about being pulled around like a doll. "Oh sweetheart," he said softly, the annoying dimple winking at me. "You were always the little one, not me."
Obsessed with this man???? Also the page number is according to my phone since I don't have the paper back. But back to Mr. Thorn. WHAT. A. HAWTIE.
