Another excellent installment in this series. Wayside School is reopening more than 200 days after it closed for repairs and things are as zesty, zappy and zany as ever. It starts with the return of the students on the 30th floor--not one of whom was sent to the same school during renovations--along with their teacher, Mrs. Jewls, and of course Louis is still the yard teacher; he didn't go anywhere during that time. I am very pleased to see that a fourth book in this series came out a few years ago after my kids grew up and I'm planning to read it as well.

In Mrs. Drazil's class, they're throwing a coffeepot, a sack of potatoes, a pencil sharpener, and a light bulb out the window to see which hits the ground first. But the big surprise is that Mrs. Jewls is expecting a baby--but one named Cootie Face or Bucket Head--and a substitute teacher is coming--and everyone knows what that means... Something strange is going on at the already peculiar Way side School, when Mrs. Jewls leaves her students with a succession of substitute teachers. This was my favorite one as a elementary schooler and it's still is my favorite one. Definitely recommend to elementary schoolers.
