The Naughty, The Nice and The Nanny

Willa Nash2021
One week with one little girl-an angel, according to my staffing agency. Acting as the short-term nanny for a single dad should have been an easy way to make some extra cash. Until I show up for my first day and face off with a demon disguised as a seven-year-old girl wearing a red tutu and matching glitter slippers. Oh, and her father? My temporary boss? Maddox Holiday. The same Maddox Holiday I crushed on in high school. The same Maddox Holiday who didn't even know I existed. And the same Maddox Holiday who hasn't set foot in Montana for years because he's been too busy running his billionaire empire. Enduring seven days is going to feel like scaling the Himalayas in six-inch heels. Toss in the Holiday family's annual soiree, and Christmas Eve nightmares really do come true. But I can do anything for a week, especially for this paycheck, even if it means wrangling the naughty, impressing the nice, and playing the nanny.

The Naughty, The Nice, and the Nanny is the first book in The Holiday Brother series. The series centres around three brothers, with the first book focusing on the eldest brother, Maddox Holiday. Designed to put one in the mood for the holidays, The Naughty, The Nice, and The Nanny delivered a quick and sweet read served with a side of steam.

Natalie, a professional Nanny, is between jobs at the moment. She's looking forward to the holidays. However, that desire is shattered when her boss called asking her to take up an urgent last minute job. Unable to say no and needing the extra cash, she agreed. Little did she know that her new client was none other than her high school crush, Maddox Holiday. Maddox is a single father, seeking a nanny to take care of his troublesome daughter, Violet, during the week of Christmas.

One clearly sees the reason Natalie's boss called on her for this emergency job. Not only is she reliable, she is good at her job. She achieved in a few days what none of the other nannies could. Also, the reasons for Violet's behaviour came to light. She required attention, something her father barely had time for and which her mother failed to provide. Her mother was rather selfish.

The romance between the characters developed rather quickly. Despite this, I enjoyed the fleeting moments they spent together. However, I wished more time was given to the development of their relationship. Natalie's relationship with Violet, didn't receive a lot of page time. One learns of their growing bond based on conversations between the characters. It would have been nice to actually see how their relationship developed.

I enjoyed this fun, cute, sexy and short read. Although not fully focused on the theme of Christmas, it was enough to put one in the holiday mood. Overall, The Naughty, The Nice, and The Nanny delivered a feel good holiday romance.

Aaron Shedlock and Vanessa Edwin did a wonderful job in bringing the characters to life.  I enjoyed listening to Aaron in the past, and this time was no different. Despite his naturally deep voice, his voices for the female characters sounded authentic.

This book was very good. I loved Maddox and Natalie so much, their relationship was so cute. I love that Natalie wanted to be a therapist and she was so cute about her crush on Maddox. Violet was the most perfect little girl, I love that she wasn’t an easy child. Their dynamic was so wholesome and I loved that everything they did, said, wanted, etc., was aimed around Violet. They put her first as the most important person in their lives. Heath was a perfect side character as well. The story wasn’t rushed or felt like it was going too fast either. I love Willa Nash too so it’s no surprise her book was amazing. Definitely recommend

First, I just want to say that I love the titles of the novellas in this series. They are so cute and really roll off the tongue especially for holiday stories. Second, I enjoyed this, but like many of my recent reads, it didn’t really do anything for me. Their relationship is insta-love and the conflict between the nanny and the child is solved in one day. Those were both too easy. I wanted more antics… maybe some pining. Third, this is a Christmas book that couldn’t have felt less Christmasy. Besides taking place the week of Christmas and attending a holiday party and her wearing Santa pajamas, it just didn’t have that warm snuggly Christmas feeling for me. It could have happened whenever. Fourth, I would like to say that after reading so much raunchy sex lately, this short and sweet sex scene was a breath of fresh air. It was classy and he was respectful. Just what I needed! Since it was a quick and easy listen for me, I’ll be reading the rest of the series.

** spoiler alert ** How I rate my books: ⭐️ I wish I didn’t read this or DNF ⭐️⭐️Not terrible but not great. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good, but wouldn’t read it again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Loved, would read again, recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ LOVED!!! can’t stop thinking about it, Why isn’t this a movie?! 💟 Dual POV 💟 Billionaire 💟 Short read 💟 HAE 💟 🌶 1/5 This book was so charming, funny and lighthearted. It's such a short read, but I felt like the plot had quality content. You fall in love with all the characters. I adored Violet and Nat's relationship. And I liked that they had a common type of relationship with their mothers. Thoroughly enjoyable and wouldn't mind reading this again next Christmas. -------------------- Summary with spoilers Natalie works for a nanny agency. She's ready for her time off for Christmas before starting with a brand new family when she gets a call from her boss. She has a client that needs someone to nanny for a 7 year old for the week of Christmas. Her original nanny up and quit so the single dad is desperate. He's a workaholic billionaire and is always replacing nannies because his daughter is the demon's spawn. That is until she meets her match, Natalie. Natalie shows up to the house and realizes it's Maddox Holiday, her highschool crush. He doesn't seem to remember her though, so she keeps it to herself and has to go thru her bag of tricks to get Violet to listen to her. She learns that Violet acts out because she wants attention from her mom and dad, who aren't there enough for her. Maddox notices that Violet is actually listening to Nat, different from all the other nannies and he starts to realize how beautiful she is as well. Sparks start flying but she draws a line to keep boundaries because he is a client. Once she realizes how strong her feelings still are for him, she decides to quit because she doesn't want to date Violet's dad, after learning how Violet feels about all her nannies being infatuated with her dad. Maddox realizes how much he misses Nat in his and Violets life that he rushes to her to win her back.

Festive and fun! This is my first Willa Nash book, and while it's a short holiday read, it was phenomenal! I loved the relationship between Maddox and Natalie...but even more I loved how they became a family. Definitely suggest this one for a nice holiday, feel-good, story!
