A Stitch in Time

A Stitch in Time

Thorne Manor has always been haunted…and it has always haunted Bronwyn Dale. As a young girl, Bronwyn could pass through a time slip in her great-aunt's house, where she visited William Thorne, a boy her own age, born two centuries earlier. After a family tragedy, the house was shuttered and Bronwyn was convinced that William existed only in her imagination. Now, twenty years later Bronwyn inherits Thorne Manor. And when she returns, William is waiting. William Thorne is no longer the boy she remembers. He’s a difficult and tempestuous man, his own life marred by tragedy and a scandal that had him retreating to self-imposed exile in his beloved moors. He’s also none too pleased with Bronwyn for abandoning him all those years ago. As their friendship rekindles and sparks into something more, Bronwyn must also deal with ghosts in the present version of the house. Soon she realizes they are linked to William and the secret scandal that drove him back to Thorne Manor. To build a future, Bronwyn must confront the past.

A stitch in Time is different from the other book that Kelley Armstrong has written before, and she did an amazing job.. I absolutely loved it.. We get a haunted house mystery, time travel, and a swoonworthy romance.. Its everything I love in books all thrown together and it turned out perfectly.. The ghosts were spooky, and kept me on the edge of my seat. The mystery kept me guessing, the time traveling was awsome.. and the romance between Bronwyn and William was perfection. Also there is a kitten named Enigma who is the most adorable little trouble maker... I want to list every little thing I loved, but that would spoil the whole book.. so Ill just leave it at I loved it, if you like time travel, haunted house mystery, and romance you should definitely check this book out...

Thank you to Subterranean Press and NetGalley for my digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. This was my first book by Kelley Armstrong and I loved it so much! In her Acknowledgements she states this is her first go at a stand alone book and i would encourage her to continue that. The main character Bronwyn Dale has come back to Thorne Manor after roughly 20 years away. There's a reason she has not been back and it is all to intriguing. This was the perfect book to read in October, they mysteries kept me hooked. Every revelation was fuel to the fire.

Written by Kelley Armstrong, this novel follows Bronwyn, a historian from Canada who inherited a house, and property, from her aunt. This house is particularly special as, through her childhood, when she would visit she was able to go back in time and develope a friendship that turned into first love with a Victorian man William. But, after a devastating incident when she was 15, it has been 23 years since she was back. *WARNING, THIS IS FOR ADULTS* To start with, I really enjoyed this novel. It had some of my favorite things in romance. Ghosts, time travel, murder, mystery. Such wonderful things. And the writing was classic Armstrong in that it was easy to read and swept me into the story. The characters, the main characters, were wonderful. I just couldn’t wait for Bronwyn and William to have another interaction. I enjoyed them soo much! The secondary characters, other than August, did feel a bit more flat, but they weren’t always present in the story. I will admit, I wanted one more chapter set a few more months/years after the current ending. I want to know how things work out in the long run. If you enjoy historical romance, ghosts, mystery, and time travel, I’d give this a shot. If you love a lot of action and adventure, you might not enjoy this novel very much. I did receive a copy in exchange for an honest review.
