Fair Catch

Kandi Steiner2022
As if things aren’t already tough enough as the only girl on a college football team, Coach had to go and assign Zeke Collins as my roommate.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ A cocky kick returner and my brother’s best friend who should have been ripped of that title years ago, he’s as infuriating as he is undeniably sexy.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I hate him, and for good reason — reason I won’t ever let him forget.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ He thinks because we grew up together that it’s his role to protect me, but all he does is get in my way, make me look weak, and piss me off more.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I tell him I can handle myself, and I’m hell-bent on getting that point across to him and the rest of the nation watching the only girl in collegiate football.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The pressure doesn’t get to me. The scrutiny? I’m ready for.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ But sharing very thin walls with Zeke Collins? I wasn’t prepared for that.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ And the more we’re forced together, the harder it is to distinguish that pencil-thin line between hating him… and wanting him.⁣⁣

I really enjoyed this book! The growth the characters came through. Riley annoyed me a lot though..

i kept hoping the plot would pick up but it never did. i wasn’t invested in this back in august so i dropped it. however, i picked it back up on 5/9, bc i read the rest of the series and i really wanted to like this but it just fell very flat to me, kinda like when i was reading the quarterback sneak. it just wasn’t giving. the third act conflict are you kidding me??? so unnecessary and dramatic. it’s like all their development to get to a good spot in their relationship just went out the window. i did like riley’s character a lot, she was badass.

I wasn't in love with book but I didn't hate it- some parts were 🥹There was more football terminology in here that just wasn't for me and totally didn't understand. I've never understood football to begin with - so it had me really trying to figure that out while I read just to get a better picture for myself. Definitely a long conversation with my S/O and yes I'm still quite confused anyway - that's also probably why I wasn't as into this book.

Zeke messed up, yes but its your brother who it really affected can forgive him- you need to at least accept that. Riley was careless with her words and yes I know she said them to get a jab at him but c'mon. Zeke was being so vulnerable with you and you're just going to throw it back in his face.

If you love an enemies to lover, best friends brother, and football- this book is for you !

Honestly the book was good. But the conflict! It was sooo overdramatized and how she basically threw everything he was feeling bad about in his face was just awful. The conflict was literally unnecessary and stupid.

I loved Riley and Zeke's story! Their backstory isn't at all what I was expected and I enjoyed seeing their relationship develop. A great start to this series.

SO SO SO GOOD. I don’t know why I waited so long to read this series, but if the first book was any indication on how the others will be, IM SOLD. Awesome feel good read, love the love story in this with the sports aspect to it. Absolutely obsessed. Can’t wait to read the rest!

Really good concept. My main complaint is that there was too much football in it. I know that’s a dumb complaint, but most sports romances don’t have this much focus on the sport.

Y no me decepcionó.

“Because I ache for you ,” he breathed against my lips next. “And I’ll end anyone who touches what’s mine.” Riley is a female football player. After a tragic accident she promises her brother she will take his place on the football team. She has a lot of issues to overcome - being the only female on the football team. But she also has to play with her enemy - Zeke. Ugh. Zeke. I absolutely love him. He's working through some trauma and while he has amazing self-esteem on the football field, he lacks it in other areas. The chemistry these two have from the beginning is amazing. You can clearly tell they liked each other before "the incident". Forgiveness is a big theme in this book. And I loved the journey. The conflict between the characters was really well done. I loved every page, I didn't want to stop reading. Kandi Steiner always has me hooked, but ugh! This was just perfect.
