Deadbeat

Deadbeat

Jake Brogan, retired U. S. Army Special Forces, is hunting his ex son-in-law, the murderer of Jake's daughter and granddaughter. When he finds him, he intends to render his own justice. However, while at his cabin in the mountains of West Virginia getting his head together and formulating a plan to track down his foe, Jake comes across a young woman and her daughter who are caught in circumstances strikingly similar to those that killed his beloved Chrissy. The young woman, Tammy, has been threatened by her ex-husband, a vicious drug dealer, who is determined to kill both her, and her daugher, Alexis, who happens to have the same name as Jake's granddaughter. Does Jake continue his hunt for his daughter's killer, or does he abandon his search to provide protection for the little family, the only help they're likely to get?

All I have to say is “Wow.” This book was fantastic. It grabs you right from the beginning and doesn’t let go of you until the end. I couldn’t put the book down. It took me two nights of reading to finish it!! Jake Brogan’s character was well written and very developed. He comes across as a very damaged person. The book explains why he is like that. And his best friend, Randy, well everyone needs a Randy in their life. I also think everyone needs a Jake in their life. The only issues I ever had with the book were some spelling/grammar issues. Also, the author switched from character to character in the same chapter, there was no notice. My advice put up stars (like these:*****) between the different POV’s. Example, we went from Jake’s POV to Buddy’s POV in one chapter. It took me rereading the chapter to realize that. Would I recommend this book to family and friends? Yes, I would. If you like books with a ton of action, a flawed hero and justice served without going through a trial; Deadbeat is the book!!! Would I reread it? Yes. I also can’t wait for book 2 to come out!! If you decide to buy the book, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!!! **I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book** Blog Link: https://readwithme2018.com/2016/02/19...
