This was an amazing read by Kristin Hannah. I was hooked from the beginning and loved the storyline of Lexi along with Lexi and Mia’s friendship. This book was a little drawn out in the beginning, then took a turn towards the middle with a small twist. You easily step in the characters shoes and feel what they are going through in an emotional roller coaster of events. You will feel deeply throughout this book while having your heartache, but wanting to continue through to the end. Although it isn’t my favorite or Hannah’s, I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend.

This book really is the definition of forgiveness and the power to move forward. A lot of character development.

the beginning was set up really well. up until the progression down from the climax i loved the story. the last half of the book felt rushed and any resolution that happened felt skimmed over. like the author was just trying to finish the book as quick as possible.

It made me cry. :(

I think this is my favorite book by Kristin Hannah yet. The first half of the book was so happy and upbeat, I just knew the second half was going to be sad. I wasn't quite prepared for just how sad the rest of the book was though. I cried through the entire second half of the book. The stories of both Lexi and Jude were very powerful. The loss of a child is devastating. I don't know that I would fare any better than Jude did. Kristin Hannah has a way with resolving conflict, and she didn't disappoint in this book. Can't wait for the next one.

This book has an amazing story plot! My eyes were glued to the book until I read that last sentence of the last paragraph.. Reading this book, I fell in love with Mia, Mia's Brother: Zach, Lexi, Jude and even Grace ! what an Amazing Friendship/heart-break/relationships/love story the writer wrote.

Well written (of course- it's Kristin Hannah!!) but I can't say I "enjoyed" this read. Definitely dark material and some plot moments, particularly at the end, which weren't plausible. I will continue to read Kristin Hannah, but I don't think this was one of her best works, or it's better to say, one of her works that I enjoyed least.

“It isn’t about being at the same school or the same town or even the same room. It’s about being together. Love is a choice you make.” Lexi is a foster child who’s mother dies of an overdose and is placed with a long lost great aunt who doesn’t have much but provides Lexi with love and a home. Mia and Zach are twins but are complete opposites; Zach is the popular guy in school, while Mia has trouble making friends - but it’s their differences that have kept them close as they’ve grown up. their mom, Jude comes across as an overbearing mom, but we come to realise that although she is protective, it comes from a place of love. Lexi, Mia and Zach are inseparable, until a horrific accident that quite literally tears their worlds apart - breaking MY heart and taking me on an emotional rollercoaster. the relationships in this book were astounding and so well built, I felt as though I had known these characters my whole life. there are so many different relationships explored in this - mother/child, brother/sister, father/daughter, first love, abandonment, grief - and each one is explored so deeply by Kristin Hannah that it made it feel so realistic, it was the highlight of the book for me! Jude’s character was the one that I found experienced the most growth. she started off as a stay at home mom who tended to her garden (her pride & joy) and although she went through a really dark time she came out of her ‘grey-fog’ and she rebuilt her garden, bringing herself back to life along with her flowers. I highly recommend picking this one up, especially because I know how many of you have read and loved The Nightingale and The Four Winds also by Kristin Hannah, and this one is nothing short of amazing!

Lexii is a child that has been let down by so many including her drug addict mother and the foster care system. When she finally finds a loving home with her aunt, her world changes. She has stability, she meets friends and has a boyfriend and their family accepts her as their own. She’s looking forward to graduation and college. Her world is turned upside down when tragedy hits and she looses this and so much more in an instant. Her world is shattered as well as her friend’s family. Grab the tissue, this one will pull at your heartstrings in so many ways.

This is the second book I’ve ever read by Kristin Hannah and both have had me sobbing at the end. Coincidentally, i happened to read both books in the same week. again, I am blown away by her story-telling abilities and in the way that she makes me feel so many things. I was connected to the story and the characters from page one, and I literally read this book for 6.5 hours straight with no pauses from start to finish. I was enthralled and couldn’t read each sentence fast enough. I started at 12:30am thinking, oh I’m not tired yet, why don’t I read a few pages of my new book and go to bed. Yeah, that didn’t happen. I pulled an all-nighter with this book and I do not regret it one but. It was an amazing story that brought out all of my emotions, bringing extremes of love, sadness, hatred, and hope. 5/5 for sure, a beautiful story and a must-read for anyone with a heart.

Night Road was such a bittersweet look at parenthood and death. There are moments that will make you laugh, moments that will make you cry. The best moments are usually somewhere in between. If you enjoyed any of Kristin Hannah's other books, or even Celeste Ng, you will enjoy Night Road.
