It was such a treat to get to revisit this world, and these characters. I'm so happy for the work that made up this book. The story is incredibly satisfying and the art is breathtaking. I've been wondering whether it'd have the same impact if a new Sandman reader were to pick this up before taking the journey through the reset of the series first... (because I only have my experience of the magic of it all, and this came last) I think the answer is yes, that this stands on it's own as an overture. The beginning of what follows. I'd encourage anyone, at any point in their Sandman journey to make their way through this one.
