A serial killer is on the loose in California. Joshua Theaker, Special Agent in San Francisco FBI, is tasked with finding the killer. Local law enforcement officers follow false leads while FBI agents are distracted by multiple kidnappings of young children. Meanwhile, the brutal killer does not stop and carries out murders using strange weapons. Finally, FBI agents are able to identify the pattern among the victims and get closer to catch the killer. This was a very good story with an intriguing plot based on what has become a more common phenomena than we should be fine with - child abductions. To be honest, before reading the book I never thought much about it. Just like with many other horrible things that happen I would grow desensitized to when I'd see an Amber alert on my phone. This novel engaged me with the story of a series of abductions and a father who couldn't heal after losing his daughter.
