While the main story is that of Death working under an assumed name at a farm, there's also a secondary plot involving a wizard at Unseen University who should have died but can't because of Death's absence. In any story where Death is gone, there's always on of these subplots. He, though, is the only un-dead character I've seen who actively tries to kill himself repeatedly to finish the job. http://pussreboots.com/blog/2021/comm...

Sadly I was rather disappointed by this book after the great Mort. For some reason, I just couldn't really get into this book. In particular, i found the whole plot line with the wizards a bit of a drag and found myself just skimming most of that. This might also explain why it took me 4 months to actually finish reading this book.

I love Death!

Simply one of the best books ever written by a master satirist in my very humble opinion. I read it at least once a year.

"Have you got any last words?" YES. I DON'T WANT TO GO. Pratchett does it again with these crazy situations and imagery that leaves me laughing days after a witty line. I can only bemoan the fact that it did get a little too silly with the wizards at times. Otherwise it was great.
