Reclaim

Reclaim (a Redemption Novel)

Unlike most eighteen year olds, I had the weight of the world on my young shoulders. Desperate to do right by my family, my questionable choices led me to the pits of hell. Steel bars, three meals a day and no contact with the outside world; regret consumed my every thought. Desperate to pay my penance, forgiveness and a happily ever after wasn't the plan. But there she was. Warm, passionate and unexpected, Emerson Lane was the light at the end of the tunnel. She was all a man like me could want and everything I didn't deserve. Redemption wasn't something I thought I would ever find. Until she found me.

I received an ARC of this book in a giveaway and I voluntarily reviewed it. Thank you Marley Valentine! Oh man! I did not imagine loving this book as much as I did. Valentine was a completely new author to me, and man did she deliver in this one. It was beautifully written. I laughed, my heart was warmed, and I got angry about aspects of the characters' lives. I became invested in their story. So completely invested that I kept highlighting passages and messaging a friend who had read the book to swoon with her. Jagger is one damn yummy human. He is eloquent, has a conscience, is a little bit of a martyr, but had the biggest heart ever. Every time he spoke I was happy I was sitting down because my knees would have given out. He's THAT delicious. I know she isn't a MAIN main character, by Taylah is my soul sister. She is hilarious, witty, intelligent, and just the best friend anyone could ever wish for. As I type this, I realize that I actually love ALL the characters; Dakota, Hendrix, as well. It's hard not to when the author is this talented and knows how to weave a captivating story and make it feel real; the way Jagger was clueless felt REAL, the way Dakotas classmates were felt REAL, the internal struggles Em had felt REAL. The damn feels were all REAL. If you couldn't tell from all that up there, I LOVED this book and is definitely at fav of 2018.
