Let me just say that this is my first time reading a book by B. Celeste and I loved it! Her writing is just incredible! I got recommend this book from Laura from Lovelylikelaura on youtube and one of friends on Instagram so I picked it up. The characters in this book were just amazing, River and Everett have my heart! Incredible read! There is cheating involved in this book, so if you don’t like cheating in books this isn’t the book for you. You really see how River and Everett grow from the beginning to end, and it’s really beautiful! I will definitely be picking up more books by B. Celeste!

It was very slow making it hard for me to be invested in the story. The best parts of the book were the last couple of chapters for me because it was a bit more fast paced.

Just too much fucking drama. Everett was so fucking toxic. And don’t get me started on the second book. Like I read the blurb and the fact that I fucking loved Oliver but he then fucks a 15 year old when he’s 30 ? Like I had enough. Why do people write such shits. And oh god people actually gave that shit 5 stars? Y’all need help. Why romanticize fucking pedophilia.

For those who love a good forbidden romance, I recommend reading River and Everett’s love story! The James family adopted River when she was 13-years-old after being in the foster care system for many years where she suffered a lot. In her new family she gained a support system which included her two new parents, her new older brother and his best friend, Everett. Their story develops within several years as they get older and finding themselves. It’s a pretty angsty story so the mood is not very lighthearted but it’s still a great love story. I give this book ⭐⭐⭐⭐.25 stars!

4 1/2 Stars This was really good. I love the writing in this book, B. Celeste has a very poetic writing style that was fun to read. I loved Everett and River they were amazing main characters as far as development goes. Robert and Bridget were awesome, the best parents ever. I loved Ollie. Can’t wait for his book. How their relationship started and then with Issy, I didn’t like that, taking a half star for that. Loved the ending. The wedding was beautiful, and the adoption. I stated crying. I loved Charlie from the beginning, I’m so glad River gets to be her mom. Also can’t wait to see Charlie be in the next one. :) :)

This is the exact kind of angst I HATE reading, so I have no one to blame but myself for going into this even knowing I wouldn’t enjoy it 😂 Hero is completely spineless and heroine deserves way better.
