Untouchable
Reviews

Really enjoyed this story and the audiobook narrator did a good job.

I totally would have finished this in one day if I hadn't developed a new TV obsession along with a need to complete my Pokédex (it rudely requires me level up at night). That being said it didn't suffer from being read in two sittings. What I didn't realise the first time I attempted a Talia Hibbert book is they are so very low angst. There may be heaps of feelings and the characters themselves may be struggling with their emotions and acknowledging their feelings but the relationship itself isn't too high stress which I love. That's what makes them work for me I think. I can see the characters falling in love and know they will stumble along the way but they're far more likely to get in their own way than anything else. I kind of don't want to read the third book but also in loving the Ravenswood series I really am.

This is my 5th book by this author and unfortunately it is my least favorite. But let me start my listing what I did like: As always, I love Hibbert's sense of humor, her books always make me laugh and smile. I was surprised that I enjoyed the single dad aspect of this book (though it honestly wasn't a big focus of the story), I'd never read this trope before and found the children very adorable (especially Josh!). I though the nanny trope was handled well since Nate was hesitant about being in a romantic relationship with someone he is paying...and I think this was resolved well in the end. I also liked the depression/anxiety rep. Now for what I didn't like so much: I have to be honest, I got a bit bored. I though the constant " I like her but she can't possibly like me" "I seem to like him but that can't be right" "He tells me he likes me, but it'll never last" that went on for over 300 pages was a bit too much. I'm glad that in the end the MC realized she had major insecurity issues, but it sure too long enough! Over all, the story just got a bit repetitive and could have probably been cut down by 50-100 pages. I still love this author and will read the other two books in these series and her other work :)

I was so intrigued by Ruth Kabbah's sister in the first Ravenswood book, so I'm so glad she has her very own romance story! Untouchable features a woman dealing with the repercussions of destroying the property of her sister's abusive ex-boyfriend, an act that while justified, has lost Hannah her job, a job she loved. So, when the chance at being able to work with children again presents itself, Hannah jumps at the chance, even if it means she'll be nanny-ing for her onetime childhood crush, the brooding and sexy Nate. Nate is also super reluctant to hire Hannah, even though he really needs her help and she is the best candidate for his children. He wants Hannah, and he doesn't want to be a creep. What follows is a fantastic romance featuring two characters with very real problems (Hannah's depression, Nate's mother's cancer) but who are perfect for one another. There are no "magic sexy times/relationshps" that solve Nate and Hannah's problems, but they find their strengths help. Love this story!
