Wilde Fire

Wilde Fire A Forever Wilde Novel

Lucy Lennox2021
Otto: Seth Walker was my first love and I always swore he'd be my last. Even after he moved away our senior year in high school, we vowed to reunite after graduation. But when he suddenly broke things off without explanation and crushed my heart, it was my turn to run. After a decade in the navy, I've finally come home ready to move on with my life as Hobie's newest firefighter. Unfortunately, the minute I set eyes on the new sheriff in town, I know I'm screwed. Hobie's top cop is none other than Seth Walker. Turns out, he's come home too. And hell if he doesn't have a lot of explaining to do. Walker: I thought I was doing the right thing when I walked away from Otto Wilde ten years ago without an explanation. I was wrong. I also thought I could come back home without having to face my past mistakes. I was wrong about that too. What I'm not wrong about: The fact that my heart catches fire every time I set eyes on the sexy man. The fact that I can't imagine my life without him. The fact that things are still just as complicated now as they were then. And the fact that I have a lot of work ahead of me if I expect to win him back. Just when things start heating up between us again, a serial arsonist strikes and suspicion falls close to home. I already lost Otto to a secret long ago but I'll be damned if I let another threaten to send our future up in smoke. Because Otto Wilde is mine, and I don't plan on ever letting him go again. Each novel in the Forever Wilde series can be read on its own or as part of the series. Fair warning, there will be nekkid man parts touching, meddling patriarchs, sweet second-chance love themes, and a dearly departed donkey named Debbie Gibson.

3.5/5 stars I’m starting to worry about the fact that my ratings keep getting lower since the first book 😂 I don’t know if anything can live up to it. This story didn’t wait at all before jumping into the relationship, these two guys hadn’t seen each other in ten years and the first time they do in like the second chapter they jump each other before even getting to talk. Then there was a short bit of angst before things were fine, and then another bit of angst before things were fine again. This was structured different to the first two books as well. There was two parts, the first part being much like the first two books with the couple getting together, but the second part had a sort of mystery needing to be solved with more angst keeping the couple apart a bit. There’s definitely a pattern to this series were no one is totally happy till the very end but I’m still enjoying them enough to keep reading.

This was a beautiful second chance romance about two people who have loved each other since childhood but separated due to circumstances. I loved the fact that both of them didn’t ever doubt the love they had for each other despite not seeing each other for 10 years. The friendship, love and family dynamics are written very well. It was also nice to see West and Nico again, being an adorable couple besotted with each other. The whole arson investigation was an interesting element to an otherwise romance novel. I really wish Otto and Seth would not be so ready to sacrifice themselves for the happiness of others and I am glad that they finally got the chance to be together. The letters that Otto and Seth wrote to each other but never sent over the years were my favorite part of the book and made me so emotional. Those words just show how much these two guys are destined to be with each other. I can’t wait to read about Hudson next.

This definitely had it's flaws but it was full of southern charm and the characters carried the story hard they were super lovable.
