The Unrequited

Layla Robinson is not crazy. She is suffering from unrequited love. But it's time to move on. No more stalking, no more obsessive calling. What she needs is a distraction. The blue-eyed guy she keeps seeing around campus could be a great one--only he is the new poetry professor--the married poetry professor. Thomas Abrams is a stereotypical artist--rude, arrogant, and broody--but his glares and taunts don't scare Layla. She might be bad at poetry, but she is good at reading between the lines. Beneath his prickly façade, Thomas is lonely, and Layla wants to know why. Obsessively. Sometimes you do get what you want. Sometimes you end up in the storage room of a bar with your professor and you kiss him. Sometimes he kisses you back like the world is ending and he will never get to kiss you again. He kisses you until you forget the years of unrequited love; you forget all the rules, and you dare to reach for something that is not yours. This book from the beginning draw me in. I will have to say this book is probably one of the most sexually explicit book I have ever read. It is done in such a way that is unapologetic, raw and sexy. Layla and Thomas relationship is so tumultuous and suck you in. All you can just root for them to find there happiness one way or another. The twist and turn from this book were pretty surprising. For some reason all of Saffron book I love all her secondary characters, I really hope to see a book from Caleb or Hadley point of view. Overall a pretty entertaining and sexy book ;)

Even if Layla was a bit crazy i hold her close to my heart. All the guilt and blame she has been holding on to throughout the whole book is devastating. This book was definitely angsty.

I need to say at the start of the book I truly disliked the main caracter…. Her actions just annoyed me and gave me second-hand-embarrassment. But throughout the book you can see her, and the main love interest, grow, truly. I preferred the second half of the book a lot more then the first. For the ending could have been different.

Spoiler: After Hadley returning I, much like Layla in a way was at a kind of peace with knowing that maybe she truly helped Thomas and his Family come back together. I first wanted for them just to part ways and her finding her own happy ending, knowing she deserves it because she helped him. BUT the actual ending did not disappoint. Going into this book I never thought they would end up together, because for me Thomas always loved Hadley. Him loving Layla like truly love her, was just not in the cards. But that’s what made the last chapter the better for me.

And most importantly I loved Nicky and Laylas relationship. Nicky is probably my favorite caracter of them all…..

Only thing that I kinda didn’t like was the hole tattoo thing cause I was just sooooo much from Layla, but it fits her impulsive and a lot, but i wouldn’t wanna have her any other way.

5 shining, rising Stars... that was the second time I read a book by this author, and it was totally a great read, it was so dark and yet at the same time so sweet, thomas and Layla were both lost in the dark, but they were just the light for each other.. they decided to walk and fight together for the rest of there life, they taught us that we.. have to love our selves first, and then the rest will follow, and it really did... And I learned that if any one really loves, he will wait for you, no matter what you are going through, and the kind of relationship you have, really, really loved the book so much, highly recommend it... And here is a quote which I liked a lot from the book: There are many things uncertain in life. There are many hurdles still to overcome. Our love will grow and change, and we’ll change with it. But today, I make a promise to myself.. I’ll always be brave rather than fearless.. I’ll make my own rules rather than follow them.. And I’ll love. I’ll always love my violet-eyed girl, Layla Robinson.

It was fine I guess? The dude spends 90% of the book being a dick to her and they fall in love out of the blue after having casual sex in his office for a few days or weeks idek. The spice was fine but nothing that remarkable. Also I thought this was going to about 2 psychos for some reason so I read it to get in the spooky mood for october and all of that and I must certainly did not get the vibes but thats kinda my fault for not looking up more reviews lol 2 stars

⭐️ 4.5/5 🌶 2.75/5 Saffron A Kent never fails to make a love story that the readers can fall in love with. Thomas and Layla discovered so much about themselves, each other, and the world in this book, and it truly made for a beautiful story. This ones definitely going to leave me with a book hangover.
